Region 10 serves 81 independent school districts and 42 charter schools throughout the entirety of eight North Texas counties and portions of two others. Perform additional duties as assigned by TDA or the Assistant Director of Administrative Services.Region 10 Education Service Center is one of 20 such agencies that support public schools throughout the state.Provide TDA with content to be used in the development of training courses.Review current research related to community nutrition in order to continually provide high quality services.Take advantage of personal/professional development opportunities to enhance job performance.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all current state and federal regulations and guidance related to the topics for which professional development and technical assistance is provided.Exhibit good judgement in decision-making and interactions with all clients.Exhibit initiative in finding and meeting client needs and developing new program ideas.Actively participate on service area, regional, and statewide committees in area of expertise.Provide effective interface and problematic situations with Region 10 staff, program participants, CE administrators, TDA, and other clients in a positive manner.Demonstrate initiative in collaborating with outside sources and partners as appropriate to better serve Region 10 clients.Participate as an active team member to plan, develop, and organize program activities.Assist with the development of program budgets and stay current with budget status.Maintain up-to-date entries in TEA SharePoint, TXUNPS, Region 10 Activity Tracker, and shared calendars.Establish timelines and meet deadlines for the successful delivery of program components.Continually create, develop, and implement new activities and adjust courses and session topics, including the annual summit, that meet the needs of clients as identified through evaluation and assessment activities.Accurately compile, review, and submit reports to TDA Food and Nutrition Division within designated timelines.Maintain program budgets, reporting information, and CE files according to TDA guidelines.Attend and participate in special committees and workgroups as directed by TDA.Attend required state staff meetings scheduled by TDA. Collaborate with other ESC regions to ensure equitable availability of training specialist across the state.Provide training and technical assistance to Contracting Entities (CEs) as described in the Statement of Work outlined in Exhibit A of the TDA/ESC annual grant agreement and management plan.Coordinate and sponsor regional trainings in all areas of program operations for Child Nutrition Program staff, including community and summer feeding programs.Provide timely updates/material for CEs, Region 10 staff, and other regarding pertinent program information.Provide quality technical support and dissemination of information through on site visits, written communication, distance learning, webpage, email, and telephone.Provide accurate and targeted technical assistance to contracting entity (CE) sites, and community nutrition and summer feeding program personnel in all areas of program operations with a focus on implementation of a specified program area.Responsibilities and Duties Specific to the School Nutrition Program Consultant:ĭuties/responsibilities may change from year to year or during the year subject to changes in the legislation, regulations, policies, guidelines governing the school, community, and summer meal programs, and as prescribed by TDA. Minimum of three years training experience with adults.Minimum three years of experience in management of school or institutional food service operations preferred.Minimum of five years of experience and expertise in the field of nutrition.Master’s degree in a related field preferred.Preferred areas of study: Institutional Management, Food Service, Business, Nutrition, Family and Consumer Science, Public Health, Education, or related field (two years of work experience related to the essential duties and responsibilities may substitute for 1 year education).
